In cryptography, an arbitrary 32-bit random number and one-time code that functions as a component of the hash that makes up a Bitcoin block. During the Proof of Work mining process, validators will attempt to find a hash below a target number which is calculated using a few pieces of information including Merkle Root, timestamp, previous block hash, a nonce, and a few other items.
